Annually, volunteering members of Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association bundle up and hit the waters and roads, binoculars in hand, looking for eagles on Lake Fork. This happens on the second weekend in January of each year. Members meet with the Eagle Count coordinators and other volunteers at Oak Ridge Marina and spend three (3) hours on Saturday and again on Sunday surveying the area. The data collected is used for many purposes, including studying the migratory habits of eagles plus identifying roosting and feeding areas.
