Commitment to Community

LFSA members are committed to making our community the best it can be. Many of our members belong to multiple community service organizations and we are fortunate to be able to enjoy the many outdoor activities offered around Lake Fork. Our goal is to give back more than we take as we work to Preserve the Legend of Lake Fork.

Kid Fish

“Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs” Kid Fish is a state-wide event held annually in Texas. It is open to kids 16 years old and under. The Wood County Sheriff Department and Lake Fork Game Wardens sponsor our event. Wood County’s Kid Fish is one of the largest in the State with over 400 kids participating each year. The kids fish from boats or from the bank. SRA opens its grounds and acts as the unofficial host for the day. Kids compete in categories based on their age.

Lake Fork Sportsman’s Association has provided volunteers to help manage the large turnout of kids and parents. This event could not happen if it were not for the many sponsors who donate money and merchandise. Each year LFSA has made a $1,000 cash donation to Kid Fish in addition to providing volunteers. We are happy and proud to be a part of supporting our future anglers.
